Indian Cultural Association ( Regd ) has been conducting cultural carnivals in Kartarpur for the last 28 years.This year's two day cultural Mela commenced on 07-02-2009 at Janta College, Kartarpur.It was inaugurated by Sant Baba Nirmal Das Raipur Rasulpur. Prizes were given away by Ch. Jagjit Singh , former minister.
In folk songs, overall trophy was won by HMV College, Jalandhar. B.B.K.D.A.V. College, Amritasr -first runners up; G.R.D. Phagwara -second runners up.
