Potato prices in Jalandhar and elsewhere have crashed to seven tears lows of Rs.1.50p to Rs. 2 per kg. There is over supply. It is feared that some farmers have destroyed their crops by throwing 3000 tonnes of potato alongside roads.
Markfed seems to be coming to farmers rescue by planning to make arrangements for buying potatoes.
