It is a matter of great pride for Jalandhar that India's ace spinner Harbhajan Singh is from this city. Apart from his winning ways on the cricket pitches and his patriotic actions , Harbajan won the hearts of all when he visited an " ashram" for the infirm and aged situated at G.T. Road, Jalandhar. He served the inmates and spent some with them . His presence in the Ashram brought immense pleasure on the faces of the inmates. Harbhajan was accompanied by Chairman of the Ashram, Tarsem Kapoor.
