"Dastak" is a Jalandhar based NGO dedicated to saving the common sparrow bird.. The sparrow, once found in abundance , is now facing extinction due to modernisation including harmful mobile signals.
" Dastak Welfare Council " 's president Sandeep Chahal informed that in the past two years his organisation has provided over 3200 wooden nests for breeding and growth of sparrow birds.
A souvenir dedicated to " Save Sparrow Campaign " was released by Capt IS Dhami, Assistant Director , Youth Services, Punjab Government.
