Viilage Bir is situated on the original route of the GT Road which from Ludhiana ( Lodhi- ana ) passed through Bundala- Nurmahal- Nakodar- Dakni Sarai.
In the second half of 19 th century Britishers re aligned the route of GT Road via Phagwara , Jalandhar - Beas so that it ran parallel to the newly laid railway line. Two vital rail- cum- road bridge was constructed at Beas on the river Beas.
Village Bir has a Kos Minar ( urgently in need of preservation ) and many old houses which are indicative of its historic past.
