Govt. Pursuing Civil Flights Facility at Adampur ( Jalandhar )

There is a pressing need for an international airport for Doaba ( area between Beas and Sutlej )rivers. Doaba area in Punjab has the maximum number of Non Resident Indians ( NRIs ). But , presently, they have to use either Delhi or Amritsar airports.

Manoranjan Kalia, Minister Local Bodies, Punjab Govt informed that they are taking up with Union Defence Minister , AK Antony the issue of allowing international civil flights at air force station ,Adampur. Adampur is 15 KM from Jalandhar on the Jalandhar- Hoshiarpur Highway. This will greatly benefit the NRIs from Doaba.
