" Karwa Chauth " is observed as a day long fast by married women. The fast is broken by sighting the moon in the evening. These days crackers are burst in various localities to mark the sighting of the moon.
A married woman prays for the long life and happiness of her husband.
Local bazaars , especially, " miniyari " shops selling bangles , cosmetics , artificial jewellery were over crowded all over the city.
