Punjab Kirayadar ( Tenants )Welfare Association has been formed at Phagwara. These tenants ( mostly shopkeepers ) have Non Resident Indians ( NRI ) as their landlords.
Government has enacted special laws ( Section 13- B ) to enable NRI landlords get their properties vacated. Executive Member of the Victims Association ,Vijay Kumar felt that this provision would be misused by NRI landlords.
Further , any differential law are violative of Indians' Fundamental Right to Equality.
