In One Litre of Petrol in Punjab Nearly Rs. 35 Taken as Taxes

In Punjab nearly Rs. 35 in one ltire of petrol ( in Delhi it is Rs. 30 ) are collected as taxes .

The skewed system of providing cross subsidies to other petroleum products like diesel etc . have made petrol price sky high . Internationally , prices of petrol and diesel are nearly same .

Petrol consumers in Jalandhar and rest of Punjab are asking for relief. As both in Haryana and Punjab petrol is sourced from common refineries , they want petrol prices in Punjab at the same rate as in Haryana ( where it is nearly Rs. 6 cheaper ).
