In Punjab there are two categories of Electricity consumers :- Paid Category and Free .
There are reports of impending increase in Power Rates for Paid category.
Paid consumers of electricity are deeply upset over this news .They were expecting Relief in electricity rates . Urban consumers are charged a hefty Electricity Tax ( Bijli Kar ) and Octroi ( Choongi ).
Political parties had promised to abolish Choongi from electricity and Petrol for Urban consumers .
Also ,the highly discriminatory COMMERCIAL Category for Urban business men should be abolished at the earliest.
