Small Houses upto 5 Malra / LIG Flats are exempted by Punjab Govt. from Water Tax.
But , now , Municipal Corporation , Jalandhar has started sending Water Bills running in to tens of thousands of Rupees to LIG Flat owners.
On the one hand , Super Rich Farmers are being given Free Electricity ( annually worth Rs. 10,000 crore ) and Free Water , Urban Non Farmers including L I G Property owners are being subjected to crippling taxes.
This is worse than Jagirdari system
Physically Handicapped Punjabis are not given a Single Paisa relief , as they are not considered to be a Vote Bank .
