Jalandhar citizens hve welcomed the Court verdict announcing death sentences to majority of culprits in the " Honour Killings " ordered by a Khap Panchyat in Karnal District ( Haryana ).
The Khap Panchyat had behaved in a Talibani way.
No body in India can be allowed to take law in his own hand.

Power Cuts And Early Summer - Causes Discomfort to Jalandhar Citizens
This time in Jalandhar and around immediately after winter ended summer started. There was no Spring in between. Air conditioners followed heater virtually without any interval.
While on the one hand , Spring season has ditched people , there are long power cuts in Jalandhar and around .
It has become very uncomfortable moving out during during mid days.

World Forest Day was observed in Jalandhar and else where.
It was discussed that Punjab's forest cover has suffered extensive damage in thye last 50 years. Urgent steps shpuld be taken to reverse this loss so that the ecological imbalance is corrected.

Electricity consumers of Jalandhar and around , especially Paid Urban Consumers, feel cheated by the budget hike in electricity duty.
Whereas paid urban consumers were expecting , as per the solemn promises given earlier , the electricity rates to be rolled back , the Government has , instead , put additional burden on Paid Urban Consumers.
There are massive power cuts . Instead of getting electricity hapless electricity consumers in Punjab get ever increasing POWERFUL BILLS..
Already , octroi is being levied on Urban consumers while octroi has been abolished in Punjab.
Further, the penal rates on businessman ( COMMERCIAL CATEGORY ) have not been removed.
It appears all political parties have deserted urban Punjabis.

A Special Lok Adalat ( Pre Lok Adalat ) was held at Jalandhar courts to clear the backlog of cases pending in courts.
Lok Adalats are held , generally, quarterly at pre determined dates. A Lok Adalat held in between , termed Pre Lok Adalat or any special Lok Adalat has equal powers to settle cases by way of conciliation and compromise.
The decree of any special Lok Adalat or any pre Lok Adalat is an Award like in any routine Lok Adalat.
